Canopy Garage Doors Explained

Canopy garage doors often referred to as "Up & Over Garage Doors" are the perfect choice for most homeowners as they are reliable, functional and attractive. They come with or without a steel frame, so you can install onto your existing timber frame if it is in a good condition.

Canopy gearing means the door panel runs vertically on tracks on the side frame with a spring assembly on the top of the frame. When open, the door panel protrudes approximately 1/3 forming a canopy, there are no tracks running back into the garage when the door is closed, they come with an anti-drop safety device to protect you if a cable or spring were to fail.

Canopy "Up & Over Garage Doors" can be automated with the addition of a bow arm fitted central on the door although this will significantly reduce the drive through height. Canopy garage doors are available in a choice of 4 different materials: steel, timber, GRP and PVC, and a range of colour's and finishes.
